From writer and director Bill Bennett, THE WAY, MY WAY is the charming and captivating true story of a stubborn, amusingly self-centred Australian man who decides to walk the famed 800-kilometre-long Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route through Spain. He doesn’t know why he’s doing it… but one step at a time, it will change him and his outlook on life forever.
THE WAY, MY WAYis based on Bill Bennett’s best-selling book of the same name (a 10th anniversary edition was released earlier this year to coincide with the film’s release in Australia) and stars Chris Haywood (Muriel’s Wedding, Kiss or Kill), Jennifer Cluff (Kiss or Kill, In a Savage Land), Pia Thunderbolt (Three Thousand Years of Longing, Here Out West), and Laura Lakshmi (TV’s Colin from Accounts, Home and Away).

The Camino de Santiago is renowned throughout the world and is a network of paths that lead to the tomb of St James in Santiago de Compostela, in the northwest of Spain, that has become a spiritual experience for many of those that make the journey. Around 6 million people a year walk at least some of the Camino, with a significant annual growth rate. Australia ranks in the top 10 participating countries.
Told from the perspective of a five-time pilgrim, THE WAY, MY WAY is an authentic and personal feature film and beautifully captures the spirit of adventure, self-reflection and what is truly important in life.
